The People Behind J Brothers

Chuck Johnson - President

J Brothers’ President Chuck Johnson’s choice of vocation was clear to him from an early age. High school shop classes sparked his interest in the building industry, and motivated Chuck to attend Alexandria Vocational Technical Institute’s Carpentry Program. He has performed a variety of jobs within the industry throughout his 30-plus year career, most notably as project manager and vice president of custom-designed, high-end new homes for the majority of those years.

In 2000, Chuck co-founded J Brothers with his brother, who left the business in 2008, and now co-owns the business with his wife Teri. With his expertise, experience, and industry contacts, Chuck aspires to building J Brothers Home Improvement into one of the finest, most-reputable businesses in the home improvement industry.

In addition to J Brothers, Chuck volunteers his time at his church as part of a facility team working on a sanctuary addition and other remodeling projects for the church building.

In his free time, Chuck enjoys golf and spending time at the lake and with his family including his wife, daughter, three sons, two grandsons and one granddaughter.

Teri Johnson - Vice President/Office Manager/Owner

As the office manager and bookkeeper for J Brothers Home Improvement, Teri brings skill, organization, and attention to detail to the administrative arm of the business. A former registered dental assistant, Teri earned her degree at the St. Cloud Vocational Technical Institute. But in addition to her own career, Teri has worked beside husband Chuck as bookkeeper for his building business, experiencing the ins and outs of the industry they both have come to know so well.

In her professional capacity for J Brothers, Teri is focused on providing efficient, up-to-date office records utilizing the very latest office software and systems.

In her free time, she spends time with friends at Bunco, wine club, book club and Bible study. As the mother of four children and a grandmother of three, she also enjoys spending time with family.

Trent Johnson

Trent is Chuck and Teri's oldest son. He has been involved in the building industry since he was old enough to hold a hammer! After high school he entered the Marines and returned home to Minnesota to work with his dad in the home building industry. Trent takes classes to stay on top of all new building codes and trends and is also OSHA certified as our Safety Supervisor. Trent is proud to be the J Brothers resident blogger. In his free time, Trent and his wife Trisha are busy with their two little boys, Torii and Chase.

Mitch Johnson

Mitch is Teri and Chuck's youngest son. He has discovered that he likes the building industry and is currently attending the carpentry program at Hennepin Technical College. Mitch stays very busy playing baseball, golf, basketball and hanging out with friends.

Paul Ludwig

Paul has been in the building industry since attending St. Cloud Technical College’s carpentry program in 1996. He was a foreman for a framing company specializing in building high-end custom homes, and this gave him the experience needed for remodeling projects. When Paul is not working he enjoys golfing and playing softball.

Jake Perreault

Jake is employed as summer help when the business is at its busiest. The building industry has been very appealing to him. He is currently attending the University of Minnesota and likes to play sports and hang out with friends.
